Meeting the Mayors of Camden/Hackney/Chester/Ellesmere Port and Pendle

Our visitors were formally welcomed to Camden at a meeting in the Mayor's Parlour in Camden Town Hall.  The Mayor wore his formal dress to show us (he doesn't always dress like that).

( The Camden links to Abu Dis go back over ten years but this is not a council twinning.)

On our visit to Hackney, we were also welcomed by the Hackney Speaker (who also has a Parlour in their Town Hall) together with a number of people from Hackney Community organisations.

In Chester, our friends had arranged a welcome for the boys by their Lord Mayor, who showed us their historic Town Hall. Logical youth football players presented the visitors with football kits and footballs which were marked with the name of their club.

And in Pendle, the group met the Mayor:  but this was also a meeting of the Mayors of twinned councils. the Mayor of Be it Lead was among our group and he presented Pendle with a map embroidered by Wasfia, Sameeh's wife, on behalf of Be it Lead Council.
